The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) having the jurisdiction, according to the law, issued several directives regarding the requirements for granting permission for operation as Financial Services Company.
This Law regulates the provision of investment and ancillary services, as well as the performance of investment activities on a professional basis in Cyprus. The Law defines Investment Firms as companies that operate under licence from the relevant regulatory authority, CySEC providing to third parties investment services and activities.
Single Passport for CIFs
A CIF has the right to offer investment and ancillary services to other member states:
- By establishing a branch in the member state or
- Without the establishment of the branch without the authorisation from the supervisor of the host member state.
